Quasar Providers enable Quasar to search for torrents on different websites. In this tutorial we are going to show you how to install and configure some Quasar Providers on Kodi Media Center so you can get torrents from several sources.

QUASAR & KODI COMPLETE GUIDE

Since the official Quasar repository doesn’t have any providers, we need to install the “Unofficial Quasar Repo” to get some providers. Go to iCanukXBMCRepo at SourceForge and download the file repository.unofficialquasar-latest.zip,  you can also download it from offshoregit.

IMPORTANT: the providers shown on this guide are no longer being supported and some of them won’t work anymore, read our guide on How to install Magnetic, a new addon to search for torrents on Quasar and other addons with lots of providers.

1. Select “System” on the Home Screen. System option in kodi home screen
2. Then “Add-ons”. Addons option in Kodi settings
3. We are going to use the zip file we just downloaded, select “Install from zip file”.

6. Select “Unofficial Quasar Repo”.Quasar Providers Unofficial Repo on Kodi
7. Click on “Program Add-ons”. Program addon on Quasar Providers Unofficial Repo
8. We are going to install some the providers, to make things easier to configure let’s install “Quasar MC’s Provider Manager” and a couple of providers. kodi-quasar-providers-unofficial-repo-program-addons-providers
9. Once you finished installing the providers it’s time to configure them. Go back to the Home Screen and select “Programs”. programs option on kodi home screen
10. Now select “Quasar MC’s Provider Manager” to set up all the installed providers at once. Quasar MC's Provider Manager addon on Kodi
11. Set the video quality for the torrents in the “Movies Filters” and “TV Filters” tabs. Be aware that higher quality requires more bandwidth, if you experience a lot of buffering try lowering the quality. Confirm by pressing “OK”. Quasar MC's Provider Manager Settings
12. Restart Kodi and wait a couple of seconds until you see the “Quasar Daemon has started” notification. Quasar Daemon started nofication on Kodi Media Center
13. We can now open Quasar. Select “Video” > “Add-ons”. video addons option in kodi home screen
14. Then “Quasar”.Kodi Quasar Addon
15. Quasar Main Menu has a “Movies” and “TV Shows” sections to easily access the content. You can check and manage your active torrents using the “Torrents” section. Quasar Kodi Addon Main Menu

Try different providers until you find the combination that’s best for you and keep the amount of installed providers to a minimum, specially on slow devices. If you constantly get “No links found” errors even with just 2 or 3 quasar providers installed try increasing the providers timeout; Go to Quasar Settings, click on the “Advanced” tab, activate the “Enable (use at your own risk)” option and increase the number of seconds to 20 or more.

On the next part of this tutorial we are going to integrate Quasar with the library, click on Library Integration: Quasar and Kodi Complete Guide Part 3.

You need to set a download path for Quasar. It should be a directory contained somewhere within your home directory.

Hi, are you sure you’ve downloaded the right version of Quasar for your system? If you are using Windows try using the x86 version if the x64 one doesn’t work.
