In this tutorial we are going to take a look at Trakt.tv and how to use it with Covenant on Kodi 17 Krypton or greater.
Quick Intro to Trakt
Trakt.tv is a free service that let you organize your favorite TV shows and movies and keep track of what you’re watching. It integrates with a lot of popular media center software and you can use it from your browser or smart phone. We are going to focus on two specific Trakt features: Collection and Lists.
Be aware that the Watchlist is meant to be a temporary list, this means that the movies and shows on this list will be automatically removed once they are marked as watched. On the other hand, the Collection and custom lists are persistent.
Try adding a couple of shows to your collection and check out the other features to familiarize yourself with Trakt. Once you are ready let’s switch to Kodi.
Activate Trakt with Covenant
Let’s set up Covenant to use Trakt, open Kodi and navigate to Covenant Main Menu.
Authorizing Trakt will enable My Movies, My Tv Shows, New Movies and New Episodes on Covenant’s main menu.
Aside from using the website or a smartphone app , you can interact with Trakt.tv directly from Kodi using Covenant.
Accessing Trakt with Covenant
You can use Covenant to access your Trakt Collection, Watchlist and custom lists.
Adding Items to Trakt with Covenant
Covenant lets you manage items on your Trakt Collection or lists using the Trakt Manager context menu.
Activate your Trakt account on all your devices with Kodi and Covenant to keep them synchronized. Covenant will take care of automatically mark your episodes and movies as watched on Trakt.
Once Trakt is authorized you can import your Collection or Watchlist to the library by going to Tools > Library, and selecting the Import option. Read How to integrate Covenant with Kodi Library to set up library integration.
